OPTION 1: Send an Email
Emailing Elder Kanar is a sure way to let him know that you are thinking about him. Like most of the 74,000 full-time LDS missionaries currently serving in over 400 missions across the globe, Joshua will usually have the opportunity to access his email account for about one hour once a week on his Personal Day, which is known in the mission field as P-day. Most missionaries are strongly encouraged to spend that limited time writing emails to their immediate family members, with priority given to writing their mothers first. Whatever remaining time there might be is usually spent reading emails from other family members and friends.
With that being said, the odds are pretty good that Elder Kanar may not have the opportunity to respond to your individual email, but please rest assured that he does read them! Your words of support and encouragement have a profoundly positive impact on him.
